MOM'S GINGER COOKIES (PEPPARKAKOR)
Ingredients
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. molasses
- ¾ tsp. soda
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 heaping tsp. ginger
- 1 heaping tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. allspice
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- Flour
Instructions
- Boil shortening and molasses together for one minute. Add the soda. Stir and let cool. Add the dry ingredients sifted with flour. Add beaten eggs. Use enough flour to make a stiff dough. Let stand overnight. Roll out, sprinkle with sugar. Bake in moderate oven.
