HOME MADE ICE CREAM
Serves: 1 gallon
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. milk
- 2-2/3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- ⅔ tsp. salt
- 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 2 c. peaches, crushed
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ½ tsp. almond
Instructions
- Mix cornstarch and milk. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Cool. Add to mixture of sugar, eggs, salt, and evaporated milk. Beat well. Add whipping cream, peaches, vanilla, and almond. Put into ice cream freezer. Fill can to ¾ full with milk before freezing.
- For strawberry ice cream, add 2 cups strawberries, crushed; omit evaporated milk and vanilla.
- For banana ice cream, add 4 large bananas, crushed.
