POP'S WAFFLE BATTER
 
Ingredients
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1-1/2 c. milk
Instructions
  1. Sift together dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and milk. Add to flour mixture. Add melted shortening; mix well. Beat egg white till stiff; fold in gently. Bake in hot waffle iron until crispy. Batter should be quite thin.
