MOM'S GINGER COOKIES (PEPPARKAKOR)
 
Ingredients
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 1 c. molasses
  • ¾ tsp. soda
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 heaping tsp. ginger
  • 1 heaping tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg
  • Flour
Instructions
  1. Boil shortening and molasses together for one minute. Add the soda. Stir and let cool. Add the dry ingredients sifted with flour. Add beaten eggs. Use enough flour to make a stiff dough. Let stand overnight. Roll out, sprinkle with sugar. Bake in moderate oven.
