FUDGE CAKE
 
Ingredients
CAKE:
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. margarine
  • ¼ c. cocoa
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
FROSTING:
  • ⅓ c. buttermilk
  • ½ c. margarine
  • ¼ c. cocoa
  • 1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar, sifted
  • 1 c. pecans
Instructions
  1. Cake: Blend water, margarine and cocoa in saucepan; heat to boiling. Blend in next 4 ingredients which have been sifted together. Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees about 25-30 minutes. Spread with frosting while hot.
  2. Frosting: Heat buttermilk and margarine together to boiling. Pour over blended cocoa and confectioners' sugar. Beat until creamy; add pecans and pour over hot cake.
