DATE KISS COOKIES
- 2 c. dates
- 4 egg whites
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. sugar
- ½ tsp. vanilla
- Slice dates. Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar. Gradually beat in sugar and beat until very stiff. Fold in vanilla and sliced dates. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheet covered with brown paper. Bake in 275 degree (very slow) oven 40-50 minutes until lightly browned. Cool on paper. Remove carefully, with spatula.
