CRESCENT COOKIES
Serves: Makes about 4 tins full.
 
Ingredients
  • 1 c. butter
  • 4 heaping Tbsp. confectioners sugar
  • 2 tsp. cold water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. pastry flour
  • 1 c. nutmeats
  • Almonds or pecans, ground through food chopper
Instructions
  1. Cream butter thoroughly. Add confectioners' sugar .gradually. Add cold water to the vanilla. Add the flour slowly. Let stand in a cool place for a few hours, then roll between hands (small rolls, size of walnut). Shape into crescents; place close together on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in slow oven about 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Roll in confectioners' sugar.
