EASY ROLLS
Ingredients
- 2 c. boiling water
- ⅔ c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 packages of yeast
- ½ c. lukewarm water
- 2 eggs (or 3-4 egg yolks)
- 8-10 cups flour
Instructions
- Pour two cups of boiling water over the sugar, salt, and shortening. Let cool. Mix 2 packages of yeast in ½ cup lukewarm water. When dissolved, add to the cooled mixture 2 eggs, beaten (or 3-4 egg yolks, also beaten slightly instead of whole eggs). Add 8-10 cups flour; beat. Then knead until smooth (about 10 minutes). Let rise to double the size. Shape as desired and let rise until double again. Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 minutes.
- Dough will keep 5-6 days in refrigerator.
