CARDAMOM COFFEE CAKE
Ingredients
- 1 cake compressed yeast
- ¼ c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- ½ c. butter
- ½ c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. crushed cardamom
- 4 c. flour
- ½ c. raisins
- 4 egg yolks
Instructions
- Add butter, sugar and salt to scalded milk. Let cool to lukewarm. Add dissolved yeast and cardamom. Mix thoroughly. Add beaten yolks. Blend in flour and raisins; mix well and place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 2 hours. Turn onto floured board, shape in desired form or braids. Let rise until double in size. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
