Butterscotch Icebox Cookies (Phyllis Johnson’s recipe)

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- ½ tsp soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Mix together butter and brown sugar
- Add eggs
- Sift together flour, soda, salt, and cream of tartar
- Add to butter mixture and mix well.
- Add nuts
- Mix all together and make into 2 long rolls, wrapped in wax paper.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Bake on greased cookie sheets 12 minutes at 350 degrees until light brown.
