BLACKBERRY JAM CAKE
Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. sour milk
- 1 c. cooked apples
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2 c. chopped dates
- 1 pt. blackberry jam
- 3½ c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 pt. peach preserves
- 1 pt. chopped pecans
Instructions
- Make the batter; add the preserves and jam. Add pecans and dates last. Bake in a greased angel food pan. Line bottom with waxed paper. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake 3 hours. Cool a few minutes and turn out to finish cooling. Will keep for weeks in foil or Saran.
