BARBECUE MEAT BALLS
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
- ¾ c. rolled oats or bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1-1/2 tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- 1 c. milk
- Flour (to dredge balls)
- 3 Tbsp. fat
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. catsup
- ½ c. water
- 1-1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- ½ c. vinegar
- ½ c. minced onion
Instructions
- Combine meat, oatmeal or crumbs; onion, salt, pepper and milk. Form into balls. Roll in flour and brown in fat in heavy skillet or electric fry pan. Cover with the following sauce.
- Combine sugar, catsup, water, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and minced onion. Pour over meat balls and simmer at low heat until sauce is fairly thick. May be served alone or with hot rice or noodles.
